About Me

Hi, I'm Vanessa.

I've had eczema ever since I was a baby, and to this day it's still something I deal with. I've seen countless doctors, tried every type of steroid, and tested more products than I can count. The hardest part has always been figuring out what actually works.

Managing eczema is constant trial and error, and every wrong choice can lead to irritation, flare-ups, or damage to already sensitive skin. Even something as simple as a moisturizer can feel like a risk.

What stood out to me is that people with acne-prone skin have tools to check ingredients and identify pore-clogging ones or find non-comedogenic products. But for eczema, those kinds of resources haven't really existed.

That's why I created Eczistential skin. It's a tool for people with eczema or sensitive skin to quickly check product ingredients. You can simply paste or take a photo of an ingredient list, and it will flag potential irritants using data from three of the most trusted dermatology and eczema-focused sources: the National Eczema Association, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American Contact Dermatitis Society.

I don't have a medical background, but I do have years of lived experience managing eczema and learning what works and what doesn't. I built this to make choosing products less overwhelming and less risky. I hope it helps you feel more confident in what you put on your skin.
